a couple more night photos within a few minutes of my front door...

hotaru (fireflies, lightning bugs) gone wild.

this is where i will be waiting for all those christmas cards and nengajo : ) (smiley face). the significance of taking a photo of my mailbox today . . . my new Panasonic battery charger arrived. if you remember, i lost three cameras (and one iPod) last year but this year (so far) i have only lost one camera battery. i left it last week in Baltimore but the hotel had no record of it being found. i ordered one from Amazon.com on tuesday and it is already here. hopefully the $1.85 plus $2.50 postage and handling charge will be worth it. it is charging right now.

just in case you didn't have time to walk up to Rocketship Park, down Via La Selva (one of my all-time favorite streets), up and around Malaga Cove, down to the beach and then back up Calle Miramar to Calle Mayor, with a quick stop at Ralph's, here are some images of what i saw starting at the bottom (around 8am) with today's tanpopo (dandelion) and ending with a few Icelandic poppies (11am-ish).

can you see the happy smiling face? maybe a happy lion or cat? perhaps Cheshire-ish?

last night on my way home after the walk to and on the beach at sunset, and after the Holiday Stroll in Riviera Village, and after walking thru the Christmas Lights neighborhood (i got lost again), i came upon a tanpopo (dandelion) alone in the dark along the not-so-busy Pacific Coast Highway. the three photos above are of that lonely tanpopo.
