today's distraction. distraction may be the wrong word. "SQUIRREL". ok, maybe that doesn't make sense either (well, it does to me). i left home in the mid-morning intending to leisurely walk to the beach and back. and have lunch out by the pool on this unbelievably beautiful day. but, i took a different street. and a longer route. and then i saw 5 or 6 beautiful monarch butterflies enjoying the warm sun fluttering in, on and around the butterfly bushes on my way to Malaga Cove. i am not going to say how many photos i took or how long i stayed taking their photos but i will say i didn't return home from my walk, from the beach until around 330pm. fortunately i took a sandwich and some red seedless grapes along with some water and had a picnic on the sand around 2pm.

another nice walk to the beach this partly sunny partly cloudy sunday morning. and now as 3pm approaches, the blue sky has gone away and the clouds have returned. i think it is a good time for a little nap and a little more cough syrup. but first, here are some more images from my long friday walk from MB to RB. and then some photos from this morning's walk to TB and back.
memories of Minoo (don't you remember the big spider in the bath-room story?)

going for a walk? no, going for a ride

the view from and thru and reflecting Redondo Beach

the Sea Sprite Motel in Hermosa gets a new paint job. call now to reserve the Beach House for a month next summer for . . . $2754.
today's sunday walk to and from the beach photos:

not sure why that squirrel likes digging and hiding peanuts in my petunias since it has been quite a few years since i fed them peanuts. and speaking of petunias, i just checked my blog and i think i planted these petunias around Mother's Day but the first photo was on May 20th. my nice neighbor Christine kept them going when i was in Japan during sept and oct. thank you. and speaking of Christine, i think she will be leaving the country for the first time this coming week to the land of her ancestors and current home to some of her relatives . . . Norway.

as you can see, i did finally make it out of my apartment after 3 days of coughing and sneezing.
still not 100 percent . . . perhaps i should not have walked from Manhattan Beach to Redondo Beach but it was a nice day especially beautiful after the previous days rain and clouds. by chance, i met Steve and Taylor at Trader Joe's. Taylor was picking out her Halloween pumpkin. thankfully they gave me a ride home. starting with tonite's moon and ending with a view from the bus, here are a some images from my day out and about.

the view from my Manhattan Beach Manhattan Village Apple Store-bound bus.
