7-5 (no, that's not the baseball score)

it was 7am when i left my apartment. the sun was just coming up at the end of my street. yes, i took a few photos as well as of the moon at the other end of the street. and it was 5pm when i returned home. somewhere in between i was here . . .

tuberosea (tuberose+sea)
hopefully they will bloom. i bought them at the farmer's market overlooking the ocean down by Redondo Pier around noon. and as i wrote, i didn't make it home until 5pm. they are drinking some water now and relaxing in a nice vase. i carried them around with me along the beach and as i was taking photos and as i was watching the dolphins and as i was recharging my new camera's battery (note to self, bring extra camera until an extra battery is bought) and as i was putting my toes in water and as i was laying on the warm sand . . . they walked about 5 miles with me. and tony too. more photos later or tomorrow. Angels/Red Sox are on now. and i haven't eaten anything except for an apple at 2pm. and that was after 3 hours at the gym earlier today. ahh, so that is where i was for part of the day.

gray turns blue then fades to black and error -99

a not-so-funny thing happened at the beach today . . . my Canon broke down. it seems to be suffering from an "unspecified" error. after trying several easy solutions, i called the Canon authorized service center for help. tomorrow i am supposed to send it back to Virginia for repair. the photo below was taken with my old Polaroid. and then i changed it a little in Photoshop : ) i will add the original tomorrow. big difference as you will see.
flying south for the winter? no, just a flock of pelicans looking for breakfast.

more photos from my walk to and along the beach with the Polaroid.
and then there were 15

pronounced "Erfin" but spelled "Irvine"

yesterday around this time, i was at the beach in Scotland. before going to the beach by train i listened to a couple of teenagers on bagpipes on Buchanan Street. i think they were pretty good (sometimes not so easy to tell he said with a smile). of course, more photos and video when i finally get home which should be sunday night. now i am in search of tonite's dinner here in Chester. i am hoping to find some more hotaru (fireflys, lightning bugs) on the way.

happymarchhappysundayhappyeveydayhappymemories

yesterday's cherry blossom photo was from my first visit to Nara a few years ago. (pre-digital camera).  today's cherry blossom photos are from last April.  the first one is at Banpaku Kinen Koen (Expo Park)(and very easy to recognize because of . . . ).  i took this photo after the wonderful Expo Jazz Festival.  the sun was setting on a beautiful day of music and ohanami.
the second photo is of one cherry blossom which i watched float down (perhaps from heaven) to land safely in the arms of a pine tree.

and in case you didn't make it to the beach this week.  or in case you aren't going there today for a nice walk, a picnic, to see (take photos of) the beautiful green in the waves, put your toes in the water, look for seashells, fall asleep on the warm sand, bird/seagull watch, perhaps surf if you have a wetsuit, fly a kite, work on your tan . . .

that "green" as seen from the Hermosa Beach pier.

yesterday at/on/in Redondo Beach

another nice long walk including a few "firsts"  and a picnic on the beach.  here are some images from my first day of March adventure.

Happy Birthday to two of my oldest friends.  and by oldest, i mean friends i have known the longest not necessarily the ones who have celebrated the most birthdays but perhaps...
Happy Birthday to Peggy and Anita.

no rain today.  it did rain again last night around midnite but i can only seblue sky and white puffy clouds from my window.

here is another photo or two from yesterday at Hermosa Beach and on my walk home.
