Isoganakutemo / ii desu-yo / kyô-wo / tanoshiku / nonbiri-to

nonbiri sunday
perhaps it is saturday
or maybe monday

i am not moving but if i were i like the name of this company (and they work on sunday)

here is a suggestion i liked from their webpage about "making your move easier":

3. All the things in drawer should be packed in a box, so should the clothes put in Italian furniture.

ok, i admit i had to look up the meaning of auspicious :

i did not know that.

i found another interesting website or two today although i can't tell you how i found them, one site leads to another, leads to another, like some kind of web.
the one on pottery brought back some nice memories of the pottery shop i found while riding my bike in the countryside of Sakuma-san's home in Saitama.  iiomoide.  i will try to find some photos (not digital then) from . . . 5 years ago?  i can't remember the name of the shop nor the young woman who caught my eye who ran the shop. i do remember her Father was the potter, and a farmer.  her Mother always brought me tea and gave me a snack to take on my bike ride. i remember they had a nice front garden which was in between the pottery shop and their home.  i remember sitting in their garden when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. the other site reminded me i want to go to that temple with the
hundreds O-jizo-sans near Arashiyama and take a photo or two with the autumn colors.

15 minutes into and 4 hours later

somewhere on my way to the Torrance farmer's market i lost another Hello Kitty towel.  i noticed it somewhere in the first mile but didn't have time to retrace my steps and couldn't be completely sure if i had indeed brought two towels.  one i hold in my left hand along with my camera.  the other is for wiping sweat off my brow.  but never mind about that.  i wanted to get to the farmer's market before it closed in case Anna, the singer from tuesday, was there.  she wasn't but there was an interesting harp player.  i bought a few plums and persimmons at the market and headed for Mitsuwa Market to check on a flight to Osaka.  EVA Airlines has a good deal if you leave before the 6th of november and return before the 7th of december.  i made a reservation with Kyoko at the JTB (Japan Travel Bureau) office inside the Mitsuwa marketplace. i did a little grocery shopping before heading to the Teriyaki Inn for some chicken teriyaki to go. i thought i had it timed perfect with the bus but i was wrong and/or the bus was late.  and being late caused me to miss my connecting bus by 30 seconds.  so, i decided just to walk home.  about 15 minutes from home (4 hours after having lost the towel), i happen to look across Hawthorne Boulevard ( major street) and i think i see something . . . i took this photo in between hundreds of cars racing in both directions.  you don't want to know how i crossed the street.

can you see it?

my lost Hello Kitty towel (from Saitama.  Hello Kitty is standing on a soccer ball so this was probably for the World Cup in 2002 held at Saitama Stadium).

images from saturday morning thru my walk to Mitsuwa Market

almost the same colors as the next photo

perhaps driven by an Irishman?

and what are these?

live from the Torrance farmer's market

not that there is anything wrong with this  . . . puppy in the pouch of one guy while his longtime companion talks to the harpist

and you thought we didn't have our own Horseshoe Pitching Club in Torrance

i am still checking online to see if this hearse was for real

Kevin, Keith, Kirk, Ken ?

you would not believe who the guy in the blue t-shirt is.  (in case you can't see the arrows). i have seen him regularly on the 232 bus which runs up and down PCH from LAX to Long Beach.  about a week ago another passenger told me to look his name up online.  unbelievable.

just in (not Justin today) time for Game One

thanks to Cherie, i was able to make it home from the beach just in time for the first pitch of Game One.  Mistake One (for today) was wearing flip flops for the little over 2 mile walk to the beach.
- another note to self - don't do that again.  now i have a new small problem on the ball of my right foot to go along with the blister on the heel of the same foot.  it would have been a much slower walk home if i wouldn't have met Cherie at the beach and if she would not have offered to give me a ride home.  by chance, Cherie is a flight attendant on a leave of absence but hers was not so voluntary as she is recovering from knee surgery.  she was in the area (visiting her church and possibly knee doctor) and decided to take advantage of the summer-like day at the beach.  thanks again to her kindness i didn't have to limp home.

here are a few photos from today:

colorful bus riders on the way to the gym...i was on my way to the gym, not sure where they were going

temptation while waiting for the bus after the gym . . . i waited for a turkey sandwich at home.

how is Kentucky and Vienna connected?

a 2 walk day.  this morning to the farmer's market in Torrance.

Anna Laube and Angelina

and then another walk at sunset (after a short nap) to the beach.  - note to self - leave earlier as the sun sets earlier now.
i didn't make it all the way to the beach before the sun found the ocean.

somewhere in between, i visited Kentucky because of Anna Laube and that reminded me of Vienna.  and somehow that is connected to Justin from last night. more tomorrow.
