did i mention i went to Texas again for about 5 days? it was a spur of the moment trip which came together last thursday afternoon after a couple of emails to and from one of my favorite singers, Sam Baker. and also a couple of emails with John Doughty who was in charge of the Grey Ghost Music Series in Bastrop, Texas. Sam's concert was on friday night. i flew to San Antonio friday morning and was met by my Father at the airport. he then drove me to his home where my Mother and Beau were waiting (Beau her dog, not Beau her beau). unfortunately we had to leave Beau at my Father's home but fortunately he was willing and able to take care of Beau as we were planning on returning the next day. thanks to him and his wife Tina for taking care of Beau and also for the delicious Chinese dinner the night before i left San Antonio. and for the Purple Martin's show.

not sure what kind of butterfly it is but it is beautiful. the purple flowers are on a Texas Mountain Laurel at the entrance to the Medina River Natural Area.
