not a good sore anymore/Tetchan/lost and found/Rouge

only two hours cardio this morning as i am even sorer (more sore) that yesterday. it reminds me of the day after running a marathon. good thing i can just be lazy at home. i did get a few things done (workout clothes laundry as usual) as well as check on my health benefits for next year . . . after finding my ID. and one thing lead to another and i found this video on the internet of Warau Inu. i wish this show was still on the air. this one has subtitles in English. i may add another one which doesn't have subtitles but is the kind of funny that i smile when i think about it. now time to get ready for dinner. i received the movie Red in the mail today from Netflix. i have seen it before and remembered i really liked it but can't remember the story. it is the final in the colors trilogy of White, Blue and Red by Krzysztof Kieslowski. no World Series tonite.

sore but a good sore

and why am i sore? i worked out with or shall i say a "personal trainer" worked me me out this morning at the gym. mainly we did ab work after some bench-stepping with weights, jogging in place and some push-ups but all that was . . . more than enough for this something-something year-old out of (but slowly getting back into) shape body. hopefully i will make it back to the gym tomorrow morning. as for Clovis, the personal trainer, i would highly recommend him to anyone looking to get back into shape, or anyone looking to learn or improve their judo or self-defense skill, or anyone wanting to learn French. oh, it was the 1992 Barcelona Olympics that he participated in as a member of the French judo team or was it the Ivory Coast judo team.

not as easy as it looks. i found these tsuyukusa buds on my way home from the gym. and yes, that is Tony's shadow.

time for Game 2.

i am a fun guy . . .

well, that's what it said on a guy's shirt at the gym. oh, there was a picture of a mushroom on it also : ) naruhodo. and tomorrow, i will get some "personal training" from Clovis. more on him tomorrow but there is a Japan connection. think judo. think Ivory Coast. think France. think Olympics. and you still don't know what i am talking about.

Happy Halloween?

twisted but not sick. i found this on my walk home from the gym . . . via the mall, the market and Target

Tanpopo-san. another find on my walk along Hawthorne. this dandelion was almost 2 feet tall.

today and tomorrow's blossom. almost home.

he's back

after a couple hours at the gym, a long walk home which included some grocery shopping and Target shopping, i took some photos from the plumeria i was given recently in my studio.

plumeria, front and back

i heard this beautiful powerful song unbelievably for the first time this morning. this is Jimmy Cliff singing his song, Many Rivers to Cross . . . written in 1969. actually i heard it on my iPod from a recording i had made off the internet of LoungeFM. thanks, internet. thanks, LoungeFM. thanks, iMac and iTunes and iPod. the version i heard was a little different, more electronic and only the first two lines of the song were sung... but those words stuck in my head until i got home and found out who the singer was. where was i in 1969?

anniversary . . . well, the other day

my friend Mike called to say a late "happy anniversary". i thought i had missed his and his wife's again. but, he was talking about our anniversary with USAir. we are now in our 23rd year. is that right? we started in October of 1987. of the two of us, he is the only one that has actually worked all those years. i have taken possibly a couple more than a few years off with leave-of-absences including the one i am on now. where is the rest of our class? we know where Steve is. Jimmy is probably doing something for "special forces" somewhere. Gary is still in Pittsburgh, maybe. and what about Jesse? Count Baba? i haven't seen or heard from him in about 10 years. back to today, Mike was in Syracuse about to go for a little walk in the rain. i was on my way to the gym on a beautiful sunny morning. Steve was probably taking care of his kids. and i am not really sure about the rest of our classmates.

just before going to the gym after a new Vinyl Cafe including a new Dave story.

no pigeons.

i couldn't resist a purple hyotan-ish shadow

10am tsuyukusa

while waiting for the bus home, i saw this guy. yes, that is a motor on his bicycle.

Game 6 cancelled. hopefully tomorrow night. why, why play night games in the cold on a weekend in New York in late october? $$$

and speaking of anniversaries, this morning while talking with Mike i looked up my blog entry from last october 24th. on this day a year ago, i walked to Manhattan Beach. i could have done the walk again today but i was a little tired from yesterday and Mike called and my neighbor Dave needed to talk about our new neighbor and then i wanted to go to the gym and be home to watch/listen to Game 6. . . excuses, excuses, excuses. tomorrow for sure i will walk to the beach before the football games. i also referenced the above song which i watched today as a part of my "workout videos" while on the stairmaster, bike and/or treadmill. i first heard this song on the BBC Scotland's Tom Morton Show. i enjoy three Killer videos during my workouts.
the first is Read My Mind (it is somewhere in my blog and was filmed in Japan), and then the above, Human and the third in the trilogy is Spaceman.
