ok, all together now " HI MA WA R I " means Sunflower in Japanese

tony loves sunflowers. as you can see by these photos, we made it to the Himawari Matsuri (sunflower festival) at Banpaku Kinen Koen (Expo Park) in Suita yesterday. it was another hot and very humid day. i think we heard 80% humidity. we had a little picnic of onigiri which we bought at the new 7-11. and i bought a Dr. Pepper at Japan (yes, the `discount shop` is called Japan). Noriko needed some sunscreen so Japan was on the way. we also had to stock up on gogo-tea (for me which is kind of like a sweet lemon tea) and iemon tea (yes, that is an "i" not and "l" and it is a kind of cold green tea). at the park, i mostly stayed in the sun taking hundreds of sunflower photos and Noriko, Tony, Tori and Niji mostly took a nap in the shade. Noriko dropped me off at Senri-chuo as there was to be some "live music" at a Tasogare Concert (twilight concert). both bands were fun to listen to on a warm summer evening but i think i was the only person without an umbrella as a light rain began to fall. i took the #20 bus at 8:40p and was home by 9pm. a delicious dinner was waiting for me. a nice end to a long but eventful photographic musical day. oh, and we did some house-cleaning before we left so i can cross that off my list of "things to do".

one of my favorite photos of the day but . . . what is it?

and there were some beautiful purple flowers also
