today`s sakura and tsubomi

a rainy go-to-the-movie day. today is Ladies Day at the movies. tickets are discounted to 1000 yen for girls. also, it is 1000 yen on the first day of the month. and 1000 yen is just a little over $10. Noriko and i went to see Okuribito at the nearby Minoh 109 theatres. she actually bought the tickets in the morning for the 120p show while i was looking for her Father. he had gone for a walk but didn`t say "ittekimasu" (traditionally what you say when leaving the house). i was watching the high school baseball tournament on tv when he pushed open the sliding door to show me the hat i bought him last year. i could see he had his gloves on and jacket. so, put on my green sweatshirt and gave him a headstart. it didn`t take too long to catch up with him. i actually let him find me after he walked about 20 minutes from home. i thought it would seem more like coincidence that we met while on a walk then that i was following him. i think he may have been a little lost. it must be tough to live in such a world.

and if you haven`t seen Okuribito . . . go. and take a loved one, and kleenex or handerkerchief. i actually used the new small colroful towel i received from Noriko`s friend Masayo yesterday. one day will all be one of the departed.
