down but not out

tomorrow i have an appointment at 940a with the Apple technicians at the Apple Store in Manhattan Beach because . . . my computer is/was broken.  perhaps it needed some "down time".  so, just in case it feels the need for another break, i will let you know that is where we will be in the morning.  i think it has something to do with the addition of the new external hard drive.  perhaps, i will keep the appointment in the morning even if it doesn't "crash" again.  i do have a question or two for those "geniuses".  however, i am not too excited about carrying my computer on the bus.

i had a good two hours with my friend Mike this morning before he had to get ready for work.  i walked down to his hotel near the beach around 7am and went to Starbucks for some coffee and a slice of "pumpkin roll".  i highly recommend this seasonal delight.  of course, i am not a coffee drinker so water was fine for me.

Mike had some kind of special "once a year" anniversary blend of coffee.  we caught up on a little work stuff, looked at some stuff on my iPod . . . i downloaded some Debbie Gibson music videos (circa 1987) for him.  he did a little shopping in Trader Joe's and then we headed back to the hotel.  he had a 955s airport van pickup.  i walked to Redondo Beach library (more Morse) and then to the farmer's market near the Redondo Beach Pier.  the marine layer was still keeping the sun away but it was warm despite the gray sky.

memorial for 9-11. . . to be revealed on 9-13 .   perhaps because it is more convenient on saturday, that's why.

Redondo Beach farmer's market (every thursday)

i picked out a few avocados ( and thought of Tozy's fun song), some peaches (thought of the Allmost Brothers) and a few tomatoes (thought of a nice sandwich).  from there i walked along the beach back to the dog park where i took a break overlooking the ocean and ate one of the peaches.  and then it was back up and over and down and around back to my place.  i am writing more than usual because i am so happy to have my computer working.  now i will see if my iPhoto works.

Mike saying "hello" and "byebye" to his son back in Florida.

~Don't forget:  Meiko is on Conan tonite (actually around 130a tomorrow).
