i don't think i finished telling you about my saturday after the gym. on my walk i was taking a different path to get to the beach when i heard a couple of loud "booms" and saw some strange clouds seeming to float right over the ocean. so, i changed directions and headed more directly to the beach. i didn't want to miss the clouds.
this is the view as i was getting closer to the beach. you can see the clouds which look like they are sitting on the ocean. some of the peaks of the Santa Monica Mountains can be seen rising above the clouds.
from here, you cannot even see the pier at Redondo Beach and the rest of the beach cites to the north.
it eventually cleared up and i went swimming. this is similar to one of the waves i was playing in. i got pounded by one wave and came very close to being slammed into the sand . . . that is when i remembered i do not have any insurance. that is when i got out of the water.
this paddle surfer was having fun. i was swimming very close to him. where or where is my waterproof camera. i could have gotten some great photos and videos of him and the waves.
as you can see it really did clear up. the "booms" were coming from these two tall ships. they are actually on the other side of the Santa Monica Bay closer to Malibu.
not me. dogs are not allowed on the beach but what's it gonna hurt . . . the Lifeguard came up to them later and reminded them that this is a no dog beach.
